Course description

The REAP Programme supports you to gain knowledge and skills of how to provide support to clients to maintain and develope skills for everyday life. On completion of the programme you will achieve unit accreditation.

Prior to attending the Induction, Learners must have attended or be booked on to the following training;

  • Training, walking Aids, gait re-education (Physio)

  • Re-ablement & activity analysis (OT)

  • Falls Prevention

  • Positively Managing Risk

  • Manual Handling

 All training should be completed within 3 months of the REAP Induction day.

Training objectives

During this course:

  • Learners will be required to take away and complete a workbook.

  • Provide all other required evidence as identified by the Assessor

  • In addition to this, learners will be observed in their work by the Assessor and OT to assess their competence.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the REAP induction Learners will:


  • Understand the context of supporting skills for everyday life

  • Be able to support individuals to plan for maintaining and developing skills for everyday life.

  • Be able to support individuals to retain, regain or develop skills for everyday life.

  • Be able to evaluate support for developing skills for everyday life.
